NoteClearly

Recover a recording that wasn't uploaded

A reload, a crash or a dropped connection doesn't lose your recording - here's how to get it back.

NoteClearly keeps your recording in your browser while you make it, piece by piece, until it has become a note. So if something goes wrong - the page reloads, the browser or phone crashes, the connection drops, or you leave the page mid-recording - the audio is still there.

Get it back

  1. Open Record in the same browser on the same device.
  2. Under A recording was not uploaded you’ll see when it was recorded and about how long it is.
  3. Click Upload. It becomes a note with the tags and polish options you recorded it with.

Don’t need it? Click Discard and confirm - it can’t be recovered afterwards.

A recording made with Record more for an existing note says so, and uploading it adds it to that note.

Good to know

  • The recording lives only in that browser on that device until it’s uploaded. Another device or browser won’t see it, and clearing the browser’s site data deletes it.
  • In a private or incognito window, browsers may not keep it after a reload.
  • If a whole audio file failed to upload, it stays on the page with Upload again until you leave the page.
