## The language you speak

NoteClearly transcribes many languages and can detect the language on its own. Telling it which one you speak is more accurate, above all for short recordings, where there is little to go on.

- **Your default:** on the **AI & automation** page, under **Transcription**, set **Language you speak**. Keep **Detect automatically** if you switch between languages.
- **For one recording:** on the Record page, change **Language spoken** before you record.

## Your glossary

Transcription can mishear names and unusual words - a colleague's name, a product, a place, a technical term. List them in your **Glossary**, one per line, on the **AI & automation** page.

```
```

The glossary is used in two places:

- **Transcription** is given your terms, so it is more likely to spell them right when you say them.
- **AI** - polish, key points and outputs - uses them as the right spelling of words the transcript clearly misheard.

Neither ever adds a term you didn't say. Your glossary is private to you.

## Fixing a transcript

Still a word wrong? Open the note, expand **Transcript** below it, turn on **Edit transcript** and fix it. See [Edit a note](https://noteclearly.com/en/help/edit-a-note/#the-transcript).
