Nothing you wrote is lost when AI changes a note. Whenever a polish or a restore replaces a note's text, the text it replaces is kept in the note's history.

## Undo a polish

Under a polished note, click **Undo polish**. The note goes back to what it was right before the last polish - your edits included.

## Restore an earlier version

1. Click **History** under the note, or in the **⋯** menu.
2. The list shows earlier versions of the note - **Before polishing**, **Before restoring** - with when each was replaced, and for a recording the **Transcript**, as transcribed.
3. Pick one to read it, then click **Restore this version** (or **Use the transcript**).

Restoring keeps the current note in the history too, so you can always go back.

## Good to know

- The newest 20 versions of each note are kept.
- Your own edits saved with **Save changes** are not versions on their own - but whatever a polish or restore replaced, edits and all, is kept.
- A recording's transcript is never changed by AI. To rebuild the note from it, use **Rebuild note from transcript** below the note, or polish with **Start over from the transcript**.
